The Bohee Brothers-the First Cross-Over Band
Played: 178 | Download | Duration: 00:14:25
The Bohee Brothers were part of a minstrel troupe. Born in Canada andraised in the US, they performed in many minstrel shows. They also had arepertoire of classic banjo songs they performed during the course oftheir show. Learn more about these talented brothers.

I have just listened to the Bohee Brothers blog. I wonder whether they played fretless banjos at that time. The playing is fantastic whatever banjos they used. I am surprised by the travel between USA and UK in those days. This got the Brits into banjo which I really see as America's intrument. Thankyou for the blog.

Thankyou for posting bios on James & George Bohee.
James Bohee was my great-grandfather. It was he who had a son, Frederick James Morton, born in London in 1888. Frederick James emigrated to Australia and had an early career as a Buckjumper before enlisting in the army in WW1. He then pursued a Vaudeville career and appeared in many productions including Choo Chin Chow. He died in 1943 in Melbourne.
